Why Layering And Depth?
1. This create a better 3D visual.
2. Different layers will guide audiences to focus on the outmost layer, which most of the time is the company logo.
This is not a layering competition. The number of layers to be constructed depends on the logo design. And do note that with the layers keep piling up, the overall thickness will increase too. This is not only heavy but also won't look good at close distance. And when viewed far away, who can tell the layers apart?
If a logo is well done, 1 layer can be pretty impressive.
1 Layer - 3D Letters
If there is only 1 layer, we can still make an impressive signs with a thicker acrylic. The thickness of the acrylic is actually the depth in the design. In general, the thicker the acrylic, the better the signs will be project out. But that is not always the case. In most cases, a 10mm thickness will be good enough.
Though, is called 3D Letters, ( jargon used in signage industry ) , is understood that shapes and lines can be cut out as well.
